    “Buzzy, a low intervention, low-cost device, is part of a larger effort to make each young patient’s experience at Tuscon Medical Center (TMC) for Children as pain-free as possible. The device provides pain relief by sending sensations down the same neural pathways taken by pain from a shot or IV placement.  Buzzy, so named for the vibration sensation that it utilizes to confuse the sensory pathways, was introduced to TMC for Children when Child Life Specialist Betsy Tran encountered it at a professional development workshop.
