You’ve tested positive for COVID – do you ask your doc to prescribe steroids? NO!!! Steroids MAY help at later points in the disease process. Timing is everything when considering treatments. The steroid Decadron (a glucocorticoid) demonstrated some efficacy LATER in the disease progression (for intubated patients).

Masking correlates with lower community disease spread. Not a good enough reason? Wearing a mask also protects YOU!

What if I want to get infected and just get it over with? Dr. Baxter stresses against this impulse. Why? She considers the heart and myocarditis. SARS-CoV-2 has an affinity for the heart. Even a mild case can cause problems with muscles of the heart. Exposing yourself to COVID may put your heart at a very real risk that requires monitoring for 5 – 7 years.
